Does MWEB Throttle Accounts.

Back on topic ....
I also signed up for MWEB on friday and am connected but its like there news servers dont work Im getting terrible speeds less than 10 KBs and if I switch to My Telkom Account I get 50 to 60 KBs
Anyone got any Ideas or should I just cancel this .

Signed up on Saturday morning on 384k package and line.
Get 14k during the day on rapidshare, nice thing I can surf and it doesnt effect the download speed.
Evening get around 20k on rapidshare
Early morning around 37k.
Think it should average around 2gb a day.

I'm still waiting for them to contact me :( did a online application sent in all relevant documents. All they did was send me a order number. I'm starting to get impatient now!

They are shaping the heck out of torrents, and the news server is giving me a third of what I got previously.

I am on the 384k package. Are the higher packages giving better speeds?

No same problem Im getting avg speed right now (9.40pm) on any torrents or rapidshare of 34kb on 4096 line thats 10% of what I used to get .

I've signed up with mweb yesterday , just need to send some documents through now . How long would it take to activate my line? I heard upto 3 weeks sometimes! My first ADSL account so I'm excited :)

I think it depends on whether you're starting from scratch, or whether you're just switching from another ISP. I switched from Cybersmart to Mweb and I was up and running in less than 20 minutes. I'd suggest phoning them rather than applying online. My experience may be an exception, but still.

Ah I see, I'm starting from scratch . Did give them a call yesterday, a consultant said it could take up to 28 days to convert my line for adsl :|

Erm, I still haven't decided on a decent ISP yet..

Either Mweb, Openweb, Axxess, TRLTech or some others..
