So I purchased a 2nd Hand 2009 Toyota Auris 1.8 rs - 90000km one owner from new 2 months ago. (Wanted a Honda Civic 180 VXI but couldn't find one in my budget with less than 100000 km).

The car is out of service plan and warranty which ended in Feb 2015 purchased in March 2015. I actually got an extended warranty at Toyota for another 2 years. The previous owner sold it because it was out of service plan and warranty as I phoned him before I purchased the vehicle from the dealership. The car has been serviced at Toyota since new and in great condition.

I would like to know will the Trade Value be affected in anyway if I should service the car at an Approved Workshop on its regular intervals? Does car dealerships consider a car that has been serviced at Toyota in a "higher" regard as cars that was serviced at Approved Workshops?

If I do service it at Toyota it will only be for your normal service such as changing oil, filters, etc - well just to get a stamp in the book. All major things such as changing brakes pads, etc will be done at an Approve Workshop.

As long as the service book is stamped, it won't affect the Trade Value of the vehicle.... go to an RMI workshop.

Your extended warranty from Toyota might warrant you to only service the vehicle at the agents, who is Toyota in this case.

Extended warranty won't be from Toyota, it will be from someone like Motorrite, who only require RMI approved workshops.

^^^ This

It would be different if it was a Ferrari or a Porsche, but a Toyota can be serviced by any RMI dealer
