Does Telkom block specific sites?

Is there any reason why I suddenly cannot access the main French eBay-type site, leboncoin.fr using my 8ta connection? This is the first time I have found access to a specific site blocked (for several days now), whatever device I use through my 3G router.

I can access http://www.leboncoin.fr via my 8.ta 3G without a problem.

Yes that's exactly the site, and for some reason it no longer works for me. Could there be a block in my browser perhaps, if the problem is not with Telkom?

Yes I can confirm that the sanral site is also blocked for me, using Telkom Mobile. What's going on here?

Referring back to my original query, could that also mean that for some odd reason, that french leboncoin site is doing exactly the same because of some perceived contravention or other by someone using Telkom Mobile? If so, is it up to the ISP to get itself unblocked, or to the individual user (me) trying to access the site (which in this case is virtually guaranteed not to produce any sort of response)?

All my devices locked out of French eBay-type site via Telkom Mobile

To the TM rep: I am still locked out of France's eBay-type site, www.leboncoin.fr, with all devices using a TM simcard. I did send a PM last week as requested, but there has been no response. I would really appreciate someone looking into this, thanks!

Hi Terence,

This problem might be related to the browser proxy settings, to resolve this untick your proxy settings if they are ticked. Also try to access the site using their IP address instead; 193.164.197.11.

You can also make sure your DHCP server is set to dynamic. If problem persist try resting the DNS server. For further assistance PM your device make/model and operating system installed.

Hi,

I'm having the same issue with all websites hosted on *.myshopify.com. I just ported from vodacom to Telkom thinking I made a smart move but seemingly not. Please assist if it's not possible to access them let me know so I can port back to Vodacom. I am a developer so it is important for me to access shopify secured servers. PS I can access these sites when connected to any other SA network except Telkom Mobile. I have tried other telkom mobile clients and they also can't access these sites. The error is

This site can’t be reached

www.stylealertsa.com took too long to respond.
Try:
Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT

An example is www.style-alert-sa.myshopify.com or www.stylealertsa.com
totallypolished.myshopify.com or www.totallypolishedboutique.com
www.glamreligionsa.com

The list is endless

Hello all.
This problem is not only with shopify hosted sites.
I currently cannot access the Telkom.co.za site that I could yesterday.
Yesterday I couldn't access a shopify hosted online shop, this morning I could, no problem, however I cannot access it again this evening.
I have not done anything with/to my WiFi router so definitely this blocking/unblocking/blocking of sites has to do with Telkom and is not a user-related problem.
I cannot access Telkom website so I cannot even try to get help there.
Telkom sent me an email (1st mail for new account) but I cannot click on any of the links or view online version...

Seeing that this thread started in 2014, perhaps those who initially experienced this problem have had it resolved.
Anyone have a solution for us Telkom noobs?
