Does the encryption in µTorrent & Azureus bypass shaping?

I've read about this a while ago and started using encryption on Azureus.
It seems to definitely speed up torrents.
I used to get dl speeds of 10-20kb/s now its up to 30+
Might be due to other factors though as I recently changed my firewall software,
but I saw a definite change after changing to encryption.

Azureus->Tools->Options->Connection->Transport Encryption
Minimum encryption level RC4
Tick all except: Use the 'cryptoport' tracker.......

i always got full speed with torrents when i had 384 because i put my router in Bridge mode and mapped all the ports...
