Domestic workers can return to work on Monday

Speaking at a media briefing on COVID-19 alert level 3 regulations, Trade and Industry Minister Ebrahim Patel has stated that domestic workers will be able to return to work under the relaxed restrictions.

However, the condition of these workers returning will be dependent on their compliance with health protocols such as the wearing of masks.

Oh another thread. Time to repeat my comment:
That is certainly good news, though if either the employer or employee is in a high risk category, it would be wise to take precautions, or perhaps decline for the meantime.

Will people working in another province be allowed to travel without a permit?

People working in another province than the one they find themselves in. At the beginning of level four people were allowed to travel across borders without permits. Will it be repeated in level three?

Yeah will still be telling my domestic worker to stay away for the meantime..... still just a bit too risky for my liking with the taxi trip taken into account.
I'm telling ours she can come back when both kids are back at school. The gardener is back next week. I'm done with weeding.

My domestic certainly don't live in another province. Or maybe she does, that is why she's always a day late.

We repaired the lawn mower , the garden service no more needed.
Gardener can come in and do weeds.
Domestic can wait for level 1 before she can come work . ( Dont want to expose my parents)Will try to support her as much as possible.

While we trust our domestic lady, what about her neighbours? Some have tested positive yet there have been no meaningful attempts in her area to ensure everybody wears masks. She said that about 25% do. We paid for her test during April just to assuage her fears, but this means nothing for the future

We are well into the “old age” group and do not want to chance it. In the meantime, she gets full wages

We had a stay in, kept her in quarantine for 5 days and then allowed her to work. Paid her in full for the time. Also gave her 3 times meals which was exactly what we had or whatever she requested for.. In a few weeks she became home sick and wanted to return home to her bf, so had to let her go.
Its surprising how priorities are different for people.
