Golly gumdrops! So the NYT story isn't fake after all.

DEdnhw-WsAEbW9N.jpg:large

"The crown prosecutor of Russia met with his father Aras this morning and in their meeting offered to provide the Trump campaign with some official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father. This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government's support for Mr Trump"

So much for fake news, hey narrowband?
Donald Trump Jr. Is lying. This didn't happen. This is fake news, like twitter

Trump Jr release series of emails. In the email it explicitly says Russian Government Attorney.

Oh and the subject of the email is Russia-Clinton.

Email clearly states Russian government wishes to share this information because of its support for Trump.

The email, from Rob Goldstone, says "crown prosecutor of Russia" ... only one problem, there is no such position in the Russian government :crylaugh:

The nearest equivalent would be the Prosecutor General of Russia, who happens to be the 66 year old: Yury Chaika

So the title was incorrect already, further the NYT asserts the lawyer meeting Trump Jr was Natalia Veselnitskaya who does not work for the prosecutor general's office, so that's another fail :crylaugh:

If no untoward information was produced as a result of the meeting, then what exactly would the right thing here be?

Uhm... to be honest and declare the meeting as a potential conflict of interest? Even if it was completely innocent you'd want to eliminate all possible doubt, right?

Holy flying rabid pigs batman! perhaps you should read the detail, the story is wrong, deliberately so I reckon: https://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/898146-Donald-John-Trump-President-of-the-USA-Part-II-Covfefe?p=20031308&viewfull=1#post20031308

If no untoward information was produced as a result of the meeting, then what exactly would the right thing here be? Do you have proof that there was an actual transfer of information?

But either way, good on Gore.

Pity about the whole man-bear-pig thing, shot his reputation straight to hell ...

Yeah, but you seem to be expecting some kind of dramatic reaction over this. Would your reaction be as vehement if it was Clinton instead of Trump?

Are you forgetting what Clinton and the DNC did to Sanders?
Well I'm not a democratic supporter and I'm aware of what the DNC did to Sanders. My reaction would be exactly the same if this were Obama , Reagan or Hillary. I've defended a few of Trump's actions in the past but I'm no Trump supporter.

Crown prosecutor? Does not compute as there is no royalty in russia
You really expect Trump jr to figure that out all by himself? Go and look at the email, and his subsequent response.

He released the email thread because NYT was going to publish anyway, and just held back for his comment.

I think you miss the point. As stupid as these errors sound, they were the actual content of the emails sent back and forth. And confirm that Jr. actually thought he was dealing with Russian government officials

Yip that is the point. Emails clearly stated Russian Governement Attorney with info on Clinton from Russian Government who support his father.

Perhaps Goldstone misrepresented the role of the lawyer, but it is clear this lawyer had connections to the government and quite noteably the enail says that this is part of their support for Trump.

What are the other parts?

It's attempted collusion, plain and simple. It doesn't matter if the government official's position was fake, Trump THOUGHT it was real. If you film me thinking I'm going to have an affair with someone who turns out to be a private investigator, then it's an attempted affair.

If it was completely innocent and you found yourself faced with a huge manufactured scandal and the information would be used for political disinformation purposes, well, personally I think one would keep their mouth shut and hope it never came to light.

I have a particularly low opinion of Kushner's political perspective, so it's not like I'd be sorry if he had to be removed from the White House.

You do understand that this involves people (particularly Kushner) whose security clearance depends on them telling the truth, rather than keeping their mouth shut?
