I don't think it's a matter of 'if'. The picture that's emerging from Mueller's investigation includes everyone within Trump's circle - the majority of whom have either turned in plea deals for their own testimony or already been indicted/imprisoned. Cohen, Manafort, Stone, Papadopolous, Rick Gates, Flynn - arrests and guilty verdicts at the highest level of Trump's inner circle.

It's inconceivable that this won't eventually come back to Trump. How could this level of criminal activity in his campaign have possibly happened without his authorization?
What I don't get is the narrative that all of this somehow does not reflect badly on Trump. It just boggles my mind.

In any other context if the person at the top had demonstrated such abismal decision making and inability to evaluate the people they hire they would be held responsible.

But not so with the maga crowd. I really and non-sarcastically don't understand it.

And like the time Obama also violated campaign finance laws?

Like that?
Yep and they were held appropriately accountable and paid the required fines. I don't recall them lying about it or trying to cover it up either. If they did and I'm not aware of it then I can agree with your point.

Also you cannot reasonably compare the severity of the offences. To me you are comparing paying a parking fine late to kidnapping. Both are against the law but it doesn't mean we should be treating them the same.

Trump is a wrecking ball aimed at the deep state. The deep state doesn't like Trump and so has tried to air the dirty laundry of everyone associated with him. But look at Manafort, for example. His dirtyness all stems from his activities with Tony Podesta, brother of John Podesta, who is in Hillary's inner circle. And the only reason Manafort and not Tony was held to legal scrutiny is because someone tipped Tony off so he could submit all the paperwork "late", just before Manafort got picked up. And Manafort's activities was lobbying for Ukraine, against Russia. And sure, Trump was running his campaign by the seat of his pants, do you really think he could take the time to vet everyone who wanted to work with him?

So long as Trump delivers on what the populists want, the other stuff is really just same schit different day.

I think the thing is that you don't see the system as fundamentally corrupt, but that view is pretty much fundamental to any populist perspective.

John Kennedy, Republican Senator for Louisiana just asked what he thinks about Roger Stone.

"Roger Stone is a total Bevis who talked himself into an indictment. When his IQ gets to 75, he should sell."

Apropos... Oh nothing really, unless you watch Empire. Two very fine people shouting, "Aren't you that f***ot 'Empire' n*****?" and "This is MAGA country" attacked, beat, poured bleach over and put a rope around Jussie Smollett neck.

Such fine folk indeed, and what was that thing I said about red hats the other day..?

Aaw, the MAGA hat has become the equivalent of the Democrat "let us punch a white kid" hate wear or the D in democrat standing for Destroy.... unborn humans, Destroy....hetero normative patriarchy, Destroy ... because we hate you.

Au contraire. It’s become the made-in-China white hood of our time. Fantastically handy for spotting folk who know nothing but hate.

True, wear one and watch all the haters reveal themselves like moths to a flame.

So you're saying is bipartisan? Well, how about that!
Nah, there's nothing hateful about wanting to make America great again, and it truly has lost its way. But some people, filled with ressentiment, can't stand the idea of Americans being proud of America again, so those who endorse the message get demonised.

Like those two fine folk who invoked the president's catch-phrase when they wrapped a rope around a black man's neck? They get demonised? Well, how about that.
