Well seeing that they claimed he meant exactly the opposite of what he said, it's not that much of a conspiracy theory.

so when he says stuff like this he speaks perfectly comprehensible english, but not when he says other things.

interesting

Couple of problems with Trump talking.
He tends to pifflewaffle, repeat himself and apparently has only the vocabulary of a 6-year-old.
Then there's the fact that he lies often and loudly. So often and loudly that we're not believing any damned thing that comes out of his piehole.

And also seems to be suffering from age-related cognitive decline.

except of course when he says stuff like having second thoughts. then its completely believable and comprehensible.

basically, its like winning at the betting table, wished you bet more in the first place. or offered less after an easily won negotiation. or asked for a higher salary at an interview.

is what they are saying was meant with what he said.

Yes indeed. If you compare his vocabulary and fluency some twenty years ago, you'd hardly think it was the same man - except for the common thread of lying loudly, often and, I might add, quite badly.

Who said it's believable or comprehensible when he says he's having second thoughts? I can't make heads or tails of that statement.

I still don't see the problem?

You just don't get the bigger picture. So this might seem like Trump flip flopping. It's not, it's negotiation.

The bigger picture is not having a trade deficit and not being reliant on other countries for certain important products like steel and oil.
And that is what our CIC tries to do all the time and we get hate right here on this forum. I don't get it - it is negotiation.

It's not negotiation. There is no negotiation happening.

“I have not heard of this situation regarding the two calls that the U.S. mentioned in the weekend,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said at press conference on Tuesday. He had denied on Monday that the calls had taken place.

“Regretfully, the U.S. has further increased the tax rate on China’s exports to the U.S. This extreme pressure is purely harmful to both sides and not constructive at all,” Geng said, according to a CNBC translation.

Trump is giving no indication of what he wants to accomplish with the trade war. One moment he's dictating a complete effective sanction against the People's Republic, the next moment he's having second thoughts about the whole affair. It's schizophrenic and nightmarish for anyone in business.

second thoughts about the whole affair

do you realise second thoughts can mean to change an opinion on something, and not just mean doubt doing it in the first place.

here have an apple, on second thoughts, have 2 apples.

take an apple, on second thought, take 2 apples.

Probably an apt comparison, Trump probably gives about as much thought to the consequences of his policies as to what he wants for lunch on any particular day...

Yeah bra, apples and oranges. Lets talk the day that Trump wants to confiscate private property. There's no negotiation room on that like there is on international trade.
