The narcissism is disturbing? This is Trump we are talking about, the man is the very definition of a narcissist. Maybe the office will temper that a bit.

Doubt it...character always prevails.

I wonder how much effect white house staff will have.
I know it's fiction, but Tom Clancy's novels about Jack Ryan and his ascendence to the presidency are an eye opener as to how all that works.

White House staff, would all be his appointees...so echo chamber of note. Had a look at the first presser by his Press Secretary....going to be a combative ride of note, with the press. Jack Ryan ascendancy was on the back of a decapitated government and well his default mode was not narcissistic. Trump and administration reminds me of the WestWing's Owen Lassiter administration...

Trump had an opportunity to come out and speak and focus on unifying a divided country. He had an opportunity to talk specifics, yet chose to outline a a vague plan.

He doesn't have a plan. For anything. Just vague promises that his idiot supporters are willing to fall for time and time again.

How funny is it that Jack Ryan, a fictional character, has better ethics and morals than the 45th president of the United States of America?

Wait, that's not funny, that's terrifying.

And he's a hawkish character created by a military veteran...

Doesn't hurt that he's Harrison ford ;)

Clancy never served because of his eyesight.

According to public records, Thomas Clancy of Huntingtown, Maryland, who was an insurance salesman with no prior military experience before his 1984 novel "The Hunt for Red October" skyrocketed him to fame, donated tens of thousands of dollars to the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), as well GOP candidates, over the years.

Interesting. I thought with all his carrier fleet caps he was a vet. My mistake.
