Uh. No, this isn't Trump's baby. It's the RNC's baby. It was part of the platform way before Trump came aboard.

No, I mean he talked the country's ear off about how amazing his Obamacare replacement was going to be, and how even more people would be covered, then left the whole job to Mitch McConnell &co to do all work, at which point they just reverted to their original plan of slashing taxes for rich people and throwing millions off insurance. Trump has zero real interest in policy details, and it meant that there was a huge disconnect between his messaging and the AHCA details. That's why he called it 'mean', although it still didn't stop him from backing it.

A schitty health care bill was inevitable and pretty much all the critical commentary of Obamacare at the time said as much.

And it's definitely an excuse insofar as the Russia agenda stopped political conversation about healthcare from happening as much as it should have.

Edit: That said I stopped watching Morning Joe because they got incredibly personal, hateful and non-constructive. So tit for tat.

I mean I still watch Colbert, because I genuinely find him funny. Even though the way he cuts and edits interviews and transcripts is down right ministry of truth. He doesn't get that verbally vindictive though.
