And who would do a better job?
No one.
And who would do a better job?
Music to my earsIf the ANC NEC is that worried about losing votes, then loadshedding is the best thing to happen to us.
Another 18 months of pain and then they can go sit on the opposition benches.
The ANC will never "let" it happen. But they won't be able to stop a group of people doing it.This is a fact.
Eskom has collapsed. We have experienced a total collapse of the grid.
The question is not who is going to save Eskom, simply because the ANC has collapsed it properly. No one will ever save Eskom. The actual question is, can the ANC let generation go into private companies, whether it is coal, nuclear or whatever and exclude them from all South African laws, unions and government and allow them to function?
When I read articles like this I alway remeber how many applauded the removal of AIDS denying Mbeki only to have us get stuck with Zuma.
Careful what you wish for.
Too many wit okes I would suspect........"Ramaphosa’s plan includes bringing skilled engineers back to Eskom, incentivising the uptake of rooftop solar, and buying surplus capacity from independent power producers."
Are they still planning about having a plan to plan a plan for this?

FIFYFiring André de Ruyter is a bad idea — Expert
Firing Eskom CEO André de Ruyter will bring nothing but instability and uncertainty to the power utility, according to the University of Stellenbosch's director for renewable energy Sampson Mamphweli.
In an interview with 702, Mamphweli explained that the best way forward is to fully implement President Cyril Ramaphosa's plan to fix Eskom under its current board and with its current CEO.

I changed my mind, bring on Stage 8! Let the ANC squirm!“There is anger because the power crisis is costing us votes. If there’s load-shedding, then we lose votes — and there is always load-shedding,” they reportedly said.
Yeah, whatever you do don't rock the current 'stability and certainty' boat we are foundering inwill bring nothing but instability and uncertainty to the power utility
It's really hard to support this position not knowing the full details. I suspect Andres hands are fairly tied. Between BEE, the ANC, corrupt contractors etc how much is reasonable to expect from him? There is no doubt about it. De Ruyter should get fired and soon. He doesnt know how to fix it. He only knows how to count the beans and where the beans are missing, he has no clue how to run a power distribution and creation network. Sure he knows how to cut costs and save money.
But no clue how to get it working.
As usual it's a good thing nobody trusts you with big important decisionsHmm how to keep looting Eskom while pulling wool over the eyes of the tax payers?
Great. Hire a White Boss.
Now we can keep on looting
South Africa can generate upto 58GW (A lot hey)
However currently we are generating about 21GW
When we first started load shedding long ago, we had dropped to about 41GW
So now we are effectively running at 1/3 of our capacity
There is no doubt about it. De Ruyter should get fired and soon. He doesnt know how to fix it. He only knows how to count the beans and where the beans are missing, he has no clue how to run a power distribution and creation network. Sure he knows how to cut costs and save money.
But no clue how to get it working.
Remember, first comes the plan. Then the task team to see if the plan is a doable plan. Then a commission to enquire why the task team wasted money and time on not planning for the plan. Then court cases et al to find a scapegoat. After everything, Squirrel will be shocked."Ramaphosa’s plan includes bringing skilled engineers back to Eskom, incentivising the uptake of rooftop solar, and buying surplus capacity from independent power producers."
