Don't get stuck for 24 months, choose the best cellphone for your needs

I used to be a Nokia fan, but after I received a Sony Ericsson phone I'll never look back. They are awesome, easy to use and more customisable (software) than Nokia!

I just want to mention that all these new phones with lithium batteries don't need to be charged overnight like the old NiCad which had 'memory'. I don't know why these idiots at cellphone shops still tell you to charge your new phone for 16 hours. Also most new phone comes pre-charged which means you can use your phone right away.

Dont get stuck for 2 months full stop.

In the UK - every 12 months new phone with all the operators even Vodafone. Why are ppl here so happy to settle for the same exact phone for double the time period?

BTW - I like Motorola and Nokia equally.

Motorola phones are easier to customize like on a v3 you can add in a video camera and increase the onboard memory to 10mb compared to that silly 4mb that they give you.

Because we are in SA.

What I could not figure out what that Vodafone got away with charging for voicemail retrieval yet people always sign up with as opposed to O2 and T-mobile who did not.

SE w900i comes with 480mb onboard and is upgradeable to 4gb+onboard (hot swap via Memory Duo Pro ) :p

Must be, because we are so far from the rest of the world...

Never used Vodafone - but we've got Orange and o2 accounts in UK and T-Mobile in the states. It's all BOAGYA here.

Hey - less than a month to go before MNP - have to be nuts to upgrade now.

You also shouldn't run lithium batteries down all the time, but rather top them up regularly.

I had a boss who always owned Nokia phones. A while back he “upgraded” to another brand and spent the better part of six months trying to figure out how to make the blasted device do things.
Six months? Not very bright then is he?

In UK when I got my Nokia 6110 which came standard with lithium batteries (unlike SA at the time [pre-2000]), the techies informed me of that, here, they told me to run my pre-charged phone completely flat then charge it for 16hours !?

SonyEricsson or Nokia all the way. Family members have had too many quality hassels with Motorola and Samsung.

Besides, SonyEricsson are the best to develop on-you can debug on-device ;)
