Hey guys, so I have a bit of a problem here, I've looked around so much on the web for a cheap and effective graphics card these past few days that I've completely confused myself and I'm not sure what card I should get anymore... Please help me...

Card options (other suggestions are welcome too as long as it's under R4500):

Nvidia:

AMD:
https://www.bidorbuy.co.za/item/503219157/Biostar_RX570_4GB_128_bit.html (not sure about this one, heard bad stuff of this brand, I could be wrong)

Current PC Setup:

LG 22MK400H 21.5 inch Full HD Monitor (has AMD Freesync)
Intel Core i3-7100 3.9 GHz
8 GB RAM
Gigabyte GTX 750 ti 4 GB OC Windforce (current graphics card)
ASRock H110-DVS R3.0 motherboard
128 GB SSD
500 GB HDD

Me rn:

Thanks in advance for the help!

Kind Regards

What's your budget?
What make & model PSU do you have?

Your new graphics card will not be of much use because of the old i3 processor. Replace that first then upgrade your card. I had the exact same setup with and i3 and 660Ti card - I upgraded the card and the different wasn't much. After replacing it with a new board and the recent i5 processor....huuuuge difference.

Am planning to do the graphics card first, then go for the CPU later on. But on the CPU topic, I do plan to get an i5 6th or 7th gen.

Budget is below or equal to R4500
PSU, I assume is at least above 400 W according to the minimum requirement my card needs...

At that budget you'll have to pick between the rx5500xt and gtx1650super.
AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT vs GTX 1650 Super review: the big 1080p face-off • Eurogamer.net

I suggest you read the above review beginning to end. The RX5500XT is the better performer, which would be my pick.

The biggest issue here is both the cards in your budget are 4GB cards and there are games out there that use more than 4GB of vram which could lead to performance issues & stutters.
If you can push your budget a bit I would recommend the 8GB RX5500XT, annihilationpc had the sapphire pulse models for R4657 but they're unfortunately sold out. I sent them an email to ask when they expect new stock.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: If you contact first and confirm actual stock you should hop on this, Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB GDDR6 Graphics Card | Computers | Buy online in South Africa from Loot.co.za
Dunno if you have discovery miles you could use towards payment but it's an option.

Thx m8 I'll check these out. My original plan was to get some RX 570 action but they're either out of my price range or completely out of stock.

Im not a geek pro but my drunkard 10 cents vote here is a 240GB SSD to install Windows and add-ons.
Then a 1050ti 4GB card (bought mine 2nd hand 6 months ago for R2000) It consumes about 90 Watts

That's what I did a few months ago and my i5 5th gen can play any game you throw at it. Might not be Ultra 4k settings but it looks absolutely amazing on an old 24" FHD 60Hz monitor.

5500xt will be the best performer
Btw, is loot a good place to buy from? Just asking cause this is the first time I've heard of em. Also, are there any other stores with good prices for cards?

Loot has been around for a while but I'm not sure what the current situation with them are. Do a search here on the forum for loot and see what pops up. If they take credit cards I would go that route as it's easier to reverse charges with the bank.

Also, would it be a good idea to buy used? Cause I'm a bit hesitant to buy used but the prices are pretty good if you do...

Normally I wouldnt ever.
But I bought mine from an old high school bud

A month later a friend of mine also bought one off gumtree and when he went to the persons house he just knew straight away at how neat everything was he was in for a good deal. So far no issues.

You need to go with your gut feeling, I personally wouldnt buy 2nd hand over the internet by a stranger and have it posted. You need to meet the person and see from there.
