They were supposed to open on 1st June, 6 days overdue now.

Apparently he's having some problems with the site but it'll be up 'imminently'

It's a redesign thing and he's moved to Boston USA and he's gonna source stuff direct from US so hopefully we'll see cheaper prices.

Seems like he's doing damn well! Send us some pics of Boston, Person!

oooh, dont we all just love that word? :p

So in other words he's only going to open in again in about three years time?

Well that's how long 'imminent' was when we were waiting for the SNO to be licenced.

(just joking BTW :p)

Micropro is live now - we are busy putting stock on and should be close to finished by early next week - at close to dealer prices... Some features of the site will only be sorted in the next couple of weeks, but anything you see on the site should be purchasable immediately. All prices include VAT. Email or pm me if you need something you don't see there yet. Officially the site will "open" on the 1st of July.

Ja, I've owned the name for a couple of years and finally decided to do something useful with it...

Have a look at the drive prices on the site - they are in stock and available now. Let me know what you think.

I am putting mainly the high-end stuff on first, but if I get any special requests, I will make a plan.

I get sub-d prices and everything is max 7 to 10 % markup. Makes our retail pretty close to dealer.

LOTS of stock still to put up - so please check by later again.

problem with dotcomputers (person)

Hi all,

Just to let you know that I ordered the Coolermaster Praetorian 730/732 black case from Brian at Dotcomputers about a 7/8 weeks ago. I paid for it and everything. I didn't follow up until about a month later only to find out that Brian left for the US. I've been tracking him down with skype and emailing him. He doesn't reply to his emails and when I do get him on skype he's very fague and doesn't really help. He told me it was in Cape Town and said that if it didn't get to me in 2 days then I should mail him. I did and no reply. I then found out he left to go somewhere else. Who knows where that is. Needless to say i've been waiting now for 7/8 weeks following up on a person that should have followed up on the customer. I say if he can't handle the business then hire people or don't do it at all. My plea to you guys is to be very careful if you consider ordering from Dotcomputers and actually expect to get something.

Regards,
incubate

Problems with NGR Computers

I've had similar problems with NGR Computers, BUT not as bad as you:(. I've ordered and paid for my computer case from them and it took the 2weeks just to process the request and then ship it. I've sent numerous emails and NEVER received a reply.

Yet on there site http://www.ngrcomputers.co.za there are clients thanking them for their fast service. I don't get it?

Just a friendly warning from me as well. I've only bought from them once. Maybe there was something wrong, but the least they could do was reply to my emails...

there's always a bad grape in the bunch - and it would appear you guys were the unfortunate ones. I've heard very little bad about Person & DotComputers, So lets keep this thread alive and lets see what comes of it : )

Its so true what they say - 'You can't please everybody' however, 7 - 8 weeks isnt good.

7-8 weeks in a market like IT is bloody terrible. That said, there have been some good reports on Person. Perhaps he'll reply himself?

@vamp: Testimonials are easy to fake... For example:

R. Muller, JHB: I've never had such good service before! Telkom has truly shown me the light and demonstrated the amazing service level and delivery we should all come to expect.

:D :D :D

(No Telkom, you may not use that statement in any shape, form or manner)
