downloading files (not torrents) does not complete / IE8

I try downloading files, lets say a program or song and they do not complete their downloading. eg. The file is 10mb and it does maybe 3mb and then it says download is complete. Whats wrong with it?

I upgraded to uncapped from Mweb adsl and ever since i think the downloads are doing this

Easiest solution is to use a download manager.

If other people have the same problem then it could be the result of whatever they're using to shape the bandwidth resetting connections to apply new rules.

thanks but ive tried a download manager and then a message comes up saying the download stopped

Try pining the download website constantly - see if there are any breaks in ping responds / timeouts
ping www.google.co.za -t -l 56056

(Obv replace Google.co.za with your specified web ad / server address)

+1 for using a download manager - I usually set mine to 1 connection for files that fail. Sometimes, the server only allows 1 connection, so if there's more, it'll stop.
