Hardly. You don't need to provide personal details anymore w/ bitcoin etc.
I'm not talking about payment methods. It's just a schlep. I briefly used the VPN I got with my Unotelly subscription and it was a nuisance. Many aspects of the internet were slower through the VPN and it had to be manually configured on a number of devices.
Read some "news" instead.
Until recently I had an unlimited Newsdemon account, and it was hell from start to finish. Download speeds, retention and completion were all excellent, but usenet is just such a s**t means of acquiring stuff, at least for my needs.
- It sucks hard for music
- New popular movies are often taken down soon after being uploaded
- A lot of stuff is password locked
- Many torrents are not available on usenet
- Torrent sites like TPB and KAT make it really easy to see what's popular
- My Afrihost business account doesn't shape torrents ever
- It's pretty much impossible to run into fake or misleading content when torrenting
- All SA ISP's provide a complementary usenet service, so you can still download the occasional item when torrents fail you at around 200KB/s.
