This is brilliant work by the media. Every political office bearer should also be investigated... I swear some folks have fake ****!

I swear I've heard about this story a while ago (on the radio). It was also posted on MyADSL...maybe a different person but it was someone faking their degree at UKZN.

It's a big mess...

-- will say nothing more on this matter until the internal investigations have reached their conclusions...

pity that people will use fake degrees to make a name for themselves and deny other, properly qualified people a job...

It wasn't the media but Dr Richard Young who discovered the plagiarism in his thesis. Our media don't investigate to that level but rather just reports on news events.

It looks it was bit of Young + Sunday Times collaboration?

When the Sunday Times approached Young — widely acknowledged as an expert on the arms deal and the Shaik family — he was in a unique position to support the newspaper’s findings.

Before being your City Manager wasn't he involved with the Demarcation Board? And I see that they are busy changing a lot of the decisions made during that time.
If it is the same guy, my condolences - had some dealings with him -

The "baboon" proffessor(sic) of another thread?

Not just a run of the mill professor but the Vice Chancellor of UKZN appointed in the same year as the awarded Ph. D. Just connect all the dots (or should it be fly spots)

Well Dr Richard Young certainly has it in for the Shaik family, and why wouldn't he Schabir did beat his company for a stake in the arms deal

Well, of course they'll say that, makes it look as if they did the work.

But why would they do the work, after all, Shaik pissed Young off :)

You've got it wrong. Young's company had the best product and tender and lost it through corruption by the Shaik brothers. Instead of being bashful about it, according to reports, Sheik tried to rub it in and play the race card. Young gave him his best shot and Chippy is down. He will never recover. Great :D
