This story makes me angry and is wrong on so many counts!

Name and shame the bastards, and see if you can get hold of the Motor Industry Ombudsman.
I'll name and shame at a later stage :)... I'm not going to fight to get the car since I don't need it but if there's a way to do a formal complaint, I'll definitely go ahead with that

So despite finance being arranged and settled, the car was sold out from under me without even a whiff of letting me know. Great stuff used car salesman, great stuff. *fuming*

Hahaha :) yeah I posted last year that Jeep offered me R140k trade. I'm really amazed at my trade and negotiating :D

Also calculated that j should be looking to save +~ R600 in fuel a month, so with my repayments the same, I'm saving with this deal (besides getting an auto, newer car and SUV ride height)

:)

Does the Q3 really have proper SUV ride height? Always looked lower to me.

Indeed. Though I think this has convinced the fiancé to let me get a 2014 model from Audi itself instead of a dealer different to the car brand.

Proper SUV ride height, maybe not. Higher than my arse-scraping Giuliuetta, definitely :)

Hehe. Well, I hope you get a good deal.

So I went today to collect the car I bought last week Monday... The manager had to test drive the car I'm trading in before accepting everything as they hadn't driven the car when they made the offer.

Their offer of R50k was on the offer to purchase signed by both the salesman and the manager. The new car has been transferred to my name, the window tint removed, the one side mirror replaced and new number plates made. The difference has been paid for since last week Monday and after the drive they decided to lower their offer to R40k for some reason of apparent defects! Nothing has changed since they first valued the car... Needless to say, I cancelled everything and took all the papers I signed back home. Now to wait for them to refund the difference
Had something similar when I bought my Kia couple of years ago. Kia I wanted was delayed in delivery by a month. Hence, on the day they wanted to lower my trade in by R5k. After I started to collect all documents and walking out they changed their minds.
These guys really push their luck.

So I've signed an OTP on a 2014 Q3 with 15k on the clock, fully spec'd :) I got a R20k discount AND R175k trade in [Take that Fazda :D ], which is R25k more value than the Q3 that was taken from under my nose this morning. The 2014 model is a fair bit over what I budgeted, but I went with emotion and not brains :/

Still, I'm happy! Confirmed that the car is secured as mine (and can't be sold while in this limbo period). Finance being arranged, and delivery scheduled for Tuesday :)

Haha, I think I want a tow bar MTB bracket instead. That way I can keep the roof racks for storage :D

A trip to Sabie is probably due - unless you keen to host in that little borough you stay in? :D

Nice. Where from if I may ask?

Heard an ad on 702 this morning about Audi Sandton and Fourways having demo Q3s from something like R379k.

Was from Audi Sandton. That's strange because when I went they only had one Q3 on the floor, which I bought

Drove a new Nissan Qashqai this morning. Quite a decent vehicle, and pricing isn't too bad, relatively speaking.

Drove the manual 1.5dCi which was a bit lazy. Would like to try the 1.6dCi with the CVT box.

The new look Qashqais are pretty decent! I'm definitely a fan. How's the general dimensions?

Not bad! Doesn't feel like a ship, but gives you the SUV feel (ride higher etc.). Was a short drive and not in the engine/gearbox that I am interested in, so will give it another look in the future. Offers decent value and is about 100k cheaper than the equivalent VW Tiguan. :wtf:
