If you can't afford the normal price of a car then you almost certainly can't afford the maintenence and running costs of a car and you shouldn't get any car at all, even a cheap one. Simple as that.

699 is pretty cheap for a car though. Just drive it on a tredmil type rack if you're not going to meet the KMs :)

Just jack up the drive wheels and put a brick on the accelerator pedal til you got your mileage.

R 499, R599 , R699 pm cars ads

Hi guys

I know this thread might be around somewhere but I searched for it to no avail.

Has anyone done a research or bought one of these R 699 pm car advertised at the back? I am thinking of getting myself a City run around car and these deals sound too good to be true. Anyone with more knowledge? From what I read from the internet is that all you need is to keep the ads at the back and drive a minimum of 500km per month or another deal where you need to drive 2000 km per month. What is repayment term? And how much is the actual value of the vehicle should you decide to pay if off?

Don't you have a Golf GTi? I thought it was good as a city run around car. Hmmm?

Talk is cheap

I guess at the end of the day its all about preferences and what you can afford. The new ST is reasonaly priced and has lots of power but I can never buy one. It just doenst do it for me . I just see a "white " boys car that wont fit in my life style. I respect it for what it is, for the power the value but I'll follow my heart and buy something that I love, something that I appreciate, something that fulfills me and currently and for what I can afford the Golf Gti does it for me. As the saying goes : different strokes for different folks." And its so ture hey. Astra OPC same thing again I like it, I respect it but just not for me.

On topic, there have been complaints about the scheme, since one still pays a full installment. They then reimburse you depending on their requirements, including washing the car every week, taking photos from specific angles and submitting them by a certain date, etc etc etc. The moment an offer is created with such arb requirements, I smell week-old snoek

Yip - i looked at the offer. Basically, you finance the car for full value and is responsible for the payment thereof. The marketing company re-imburses you the differance of the payment. You need to take pics of the Odometer as well as different angles of the outside of the car to alify for the discounts. Should you not drive the required Km then they wont pay you for that month. this means that you will cover the full car payment.... so budget for it.

Remember, you might be doing the mileage currently - but what happens when you on leave - or the car breaksdown / is in an accident and is not mobile for a week or 2 - so be prepared for this.

Also - check out hello peter etc - many people compain about not being paid even though they have submitted the pics.

Oh - and if other people sms with your code (on your car) - anthey sign up - you get a cash back
