Jeez, 18 and still at school? How old is the average matric pupil learner?

18? Most kids do grade 1 at 7 so they're 18 at grade 12
Yeah, I don't quite get his point. 18 is normal, my old high school offered drivers ed for exactly that reason, kids were able to learn to drive and take the test in their matric year.

Didn't know children start school at 7, that's a bit late IMHO but anyway, it's a great idea to teach driving at school.

Normally its turning 7 but yeah, thats the official stance. I think there was maybe one or two in my matric year who were turning 17, thats very young.
