Driving from Cape Town to Johannesburg

Hi All

Cant seem to find the last thread on driving from CPT to JHB

Long story short, thinking of buying a car from a dealer in CPT, so will fly down.

Anyone done the trip recently, never done it before, i know it can be done in a day, unfortunately dont have alot of leave ti sacrifice so will be done on 1 day.

Any thing i should be mindful of? Condition of roads? Any hotspot areas along the way? Any other advice for this trip?

The dealer can actually bring the car to you ?? ... my brother was a car dealer for years and he used to make trips like this quite often :unsure:

what a sheeet trip it is on the way back up. personally i would stop over, rather plan it around a weekend to minimise your leave issues.

what are the cars details that make it worthwhile spending the time and money to go fetch it vs sourcing something in jhb?

What car you getting if you don't mind me asking? Quite a long trip. I battled to do it in a day but if you driving a decently specced luxury German sedan, it can be a pleasant trip...

Cannot find same or similar for same,, price difference is 20k minimum, checked in Dbn as well.

I would rather pay the 6k delivery fee than waste days driving. Time is much more important than money.

Agreed, have always wanted to do the drive tho, either way up or down, and i see the opportunity has sort of presented itself

Done it a few times. 11 to 10 hours , 2 Monster cans, and 2 stops wimpy shell preferably yep fun trip sole driver it can be done lekker views as well ....put voet in hoek
