Will see if the body requires a break in BloemYou could knock it out. but you wont enjoy it.
and if you do, take a buddy with to either chat or take over the driving.

I used a car transport service to send a car from CPT to JHB, it was a honda jazz. They charged me 3000 3years back. You have to drop the vehicle and pick it up from the destination.Cant seem to find the last thread on driving from CPT to JHB
Long story short, thinking of buying a car from a dealer in CPT, so will fly down.
Anyone done the trip recently, never done it before, i know it can be done in a day, unfortunately dont have alot of leave ti sacrifice so will be done on 1 day.
Any thing i should be mindful of? Condition of roads? Any hotspot areas along the way? Any other advice for this trip?
I forgot some years back i used Spoornet find out i think they charged at the time r1500 from Cpt to Jhb...find outHi All

Let me check out that option. Might be betterI used a car transport service to send a car from CPT to JHB, it was a honda jazz. They charged me 3000 3years back. You have to drop the vehicle and pick it up from the destination.
I did travel once by car from CPT to JHB and then back.
Not that tough, if u are doing it for the first time its really fun. for a new driver it might take upto 18 hours for that journey. Experienced drivers do it in less than 14 hours.
Personally if you dont have the time, I would suggest you hire car transport. If you have time(3 days at least)) then do it yourself. One day to fly, pickup your car and rest. Start next day morning, reach home before dark and then rest for the next day because your ass will be sore.
They can, but charge extra 6000 for delivery, figured i might as well make the trip down there and do the trip on my own.
Once flights, Uber, accommodation, Petrol, tolls and your time is factored in you really aren't going to be getting much change from R6k if you do in it yourself. I'd pay the R6k rather and have it brought up.It's 1400km or more than 14 hours of nonstop driving. You will have to stop for rest at least a few times, or maybe spend the night somewhere.
Oh now it makes sense why you want to drive it yourself, you bought the best car in he world, its gonna eat up those miles like its nothing, probably going to do it on one tank too..BMW 320d
Given the price difference of other similar vehicles and specs, i cant overlook this one. 2nd hand car dealer, still under warranty, it was recently extended until 2023.Once flights, Uber, accommodation, Petrol, tolls and your time is factored in you really aren't going to be getting much change from R6k if you do in it yourself. I'd pay the R6k rather and have it brought up.
Who is selling the vehicle, a BMW dealer and it is still under factory warranty?
Because if its a private deal or a 2hnd car dealer you may be in for a horrible surprise when you see it in person. There's probably a good reason such a popular car is so cheap.
Cape Town is not known for car deals, JHB is. Normally people are flying to JHB to get a good deal on a vehicle, the only time I'd see it normal flying the other way is if it's an exotic or some other model or make that's not very popular.
Heard Colesburg being a popular stop on this routeColesberg much nicer spot if you have to spend a night on the drive back.
Will take on the road as soon as i can, 4am after curfewGenuinely detest the stretch from Laingsburg, basically all the way to Bloemfontein.
Dull and hot... I've driven through Beaufort West with the car showing a 44 degree outside temp. It's awful.
storms is right, get it done early.
With WC average speed enforcement, if you dont have cruise control it is pain in the ass trying to stay 120 average. I use my garmin to determine ave speed.Done it a few times. 11 to 10 hours , 2 Monster cans, and 2 stops wimpy shell preferably yep fun trip sole driver it can be done lekker views as well ....put voet in hoek
Thanks, fingers crossed, the vehicle is all that it is promised to be!Oh now it makes sense why you want to drive it yourself, you bought the best car in he world, its gonna eat up those miles like its nothing, probably going to do it on one tank too..
i am jealous of the car and the trip that lies ahead.
Not used to average speed, so going to have to be mindful of it,. Good diesel consumptionWith WC average speed enforcement, if you dont have cruise control it is pain in the ass trying to stay 120 average. I use my garmin to determine ave speed.
Can do it one trip.
Alone: I left CPT after 4am arrived at destination in JHB at 19h30. Incl. Lunch/pitsop in Colesberg. Diesel. So about 1,5 tanks
With wife and daughter, I swear we stop every 30 min. So minimum two days.
So do it over weekend.
