I just dropped my iPhone in the toilet. I took it out after a second again, screen was flickering, I switched it off after a few seconds, took the sim card out and put it in the sun for a bit. then it said 'temperature' and screen was still flickering but reacted on my input. Wtf, I thought I switched it off?

Anyway, I switched it off (again) and put it in the bedroom to let it dry. The inside of the lens is still moist on the inside and also a corner of the screen.

PLEEEEEZE iPhone, come back to live when I switch you on in the evening again!!!

You can get any electronics wet if they have no power to them. Trick is to get the battery out ASAP when you get it wet. Then put it in an oven at like 50-70C for a couple of hours.

We had a braai at my sis's place, we all got trashed... pushed my drunk Brother inlaw into the pool, was funny as shyte, but he had his 3 day old Omnia i900 in his pocket. Man you never seen a phone get stripped so fast! I pulled it apart within seconds, did the oven thing, put it all back together the next day. Been working for over a year fine now after that!

Just leave it alone until the mokisture is no longer visible, dont out it in the sun; oven or anything else just leave it be for a day or two.

Very good chance it will come back - I have totally submerged mine before - posting this through a tethered connection on the iPhone right now :)

i just tried to suck all excess moisture out of it with the vacuum cleaner, now i put it in a bowl of rice and put it in the sun.

I will switch it on in the evening again and see what's going on, I really hope it will work again. At least I have recently synced it.

Still very frustrating, was as good as new.

it could be a good thing that the device is so sealed though. let it try, will prob work fine.

i dropped my phone into chocolate sauce once. unfortunately although the power was fine it took out the speaker and you could hardly hear anything.

Me lucky bastard switched the phone on again after a few hours drying in a rice bowl and everything works fine again. I'm really glad. On the other hand I was seeing myself buying the 3GS already. But then again.... no, rather wait for the next generation.
