Wrong.
All depends on what it is.
It can...
It can so why risk it.

If someone has to drink in order to enjoy themselves then the problem isn't really the law prohibiting drinking and driving, it that they have to drink in order to enjoy themselves.

That said while these new proposal are unnecessarily harsh the current penalties are laughable.

This would effectively be an extra-judicial punishment and I doubt it would be constitutional.

I doubt 1 or 2 drinks over lunch can get one arrested.

depends on the drink, the size of the person drinking, if they have eaten etc.

i agree, that paralytically drunk people should not operate anything. even tipsy some people cant handle.

but, ive known people to get into trouble for a single draught beer more than 2 hours earlier. sometimes the longer the roadblock carries on, the more de moer in that officer becomes.

All this pi$$ing and moaning about this proposal being harsh etc.

Don't drink and drive. Period. No excuses. Why is this so hard?

When the wife and I go for dinner or lunch and both of us plan to have drinks, even if it is just a bottle of wine...we Uber.

What can be safer and simpler than that?

At least lock them up in a separate cell. No point being raped, getting aids and adding another HIV statistic to the country. Basically giving someone a death sentence for being over the limit.

It can get tricky though with diabetics or people on chronic medication/medical condition. Slammed in the holding cells for a week could kill him. Knowing SAP they will leave him in that cell to die.

Once locked up a drunk at night, next morning he was dead - that's how drunk he was

Problem with this is that it makes the rtmc behave like a magistrate. You cannot incarcerate as punishment until proven guilty. I am not a fan of drunk drivers but it would be a dangerous precedent.

My fillet is more enjoyable with a good glass of red.
Anything else just ruins it. Your mileage may differ.

Nothing, if you live in a city.

So what if the officer just suspects you of drinking and driving even if you haven't? 7 days in jail?

It's not like blood tests are quick. Will they be using evidentiary breath analysers? (the roadside machine are not enough).

You know that you are just being ridiculous with that statement.

If you drink and drive, then yes.

If you don't drink and drive, you will not end up in prison for 7 days, will you?

So what is the issue?

for a draught you had with lunch more than 2 hours ago? are you ****ed in the head?
