I have no idea if this is in the area or just our home. But I have a 4Mbps line, and cannot even pull 1Mbps of download speed.

So I contacted Telkom a few times, asking for a technician to come take a look. They said they will see if they can fix the problem and send me an SMS when it's fixed or call me when they are coming to the premises.

I got an SMS saying it was fixed, and to reply with a NO if it's not fixed. So like you'd guess, I just get a fat middlefinger from the speedtest rubbing my disappointed face at a 0.8Mbps download speed. I replied with a NO, call back two days later and the person on the phone tells me it has been resolved. So they just say the reply and were like: "Lol let him wait 15 minutes again on 10210."

I contacted them again and asked them to come. So here's hoping they get here before my holiday is over.

Some extra info: a few years ago, we had the exact same problem, a technician eventually came over and replaced the wall jack, boom fixed and we got to use that sexy 2Mbps to its full potential. How often are there problems with the cabling between the jack and telephone pole? Because I tested two different routers, get roughly the same speed on their speedtest servers. Even on the router's statistics, it shows an attainable speed of 1200Kbps.

It's so frustrating waiting for ASCII pictures to load.
