DSL Problem

Hi Guys

My brother is having a problem on his dsl line, ever since Telkom installed his dsl his been lagging out of games, he gets these huge spikes and drops out from dota, bf, wc3 etc. Telkom came home but could not find any faults. He does not drop from the internet, he stays connected, just drops out of games, any ideas on what the problem could be.

would there be a difference between IS and SAIX accounts for the purpose of online gaming?

i remember having problems when i used an ABSA dialup account. I would intermittently get disconnected for NO reason, and then BAM, no more problems. Strange indeed.

Nope, tried Webafrica Saix, Unshapped and Imagine IS accounts. All have the same problem

Sounds like high & unstable latency as well as packet loss. Try pinging those same gaming servers to find out what's happening.

I did ping them, u get a perfect ping, i was pinging my brother over hamachi, and its perfect, but every now and then, like after around 10 min of pining, it times out for a few seconds and starts again. Very very weird
