1 x DSTV Explora (HD) as main (MAIN)
1 x DSTV Extra View HD as secondary (SEC)

1 x 4 cable LNB
- 3 into MAIN
- 1 into SEC

The cable going to SEC from the DISH is quite far. I am getting a lot of choppy/distorted imaging. Sound is perfect but the image tears and bleeds all the time. Especially during sports. Lets assume the distance is greater than 75m+

Question

1) Would am amplifier work ?
2) Where do I place it ? Halfway point? Would somewhere near source work ?
3) Can anyone recommend me a good DSTV installer to come and diagnose and fix the problem ?

Tnx :)

No, an amp is only good for the analogue output signal (RF out)

You'll need to move the decoder closer to the dish or vice versa

So there no way to boost the signal from Lnb (picture and sound not analogue) ?

Nope, none that I'm aware of. Reason being that moving the dish or decoder is a simple process. If you're using a multi-viewer system in an estate then you need to get a hold of whoever does maintenance and ask them to fix your problem

Its a free standing house...

Would something like this work?
I have another Dish and LNB... Can I connect up the 2nd dish and LNB closer to the extra view decoder and just patch the sat feed directly into the extra view keeping the heartbeat in place between the primary and secondary decoders untouched.

Side question...? Can a weak heartbeat signal cause image issues ? or is it a simple case of heartbest = yes you have picutre... no heartbeat no picture?

Have you spoken to an installer about this? Phone someone who's bakkie you see directly and let them do a side-job for you.

I did exactly that this morning... Destiny would have it one popped up in front of me this morning in traffic... Lets see if he solves the problem...
