DStv explora 1 Ethernet connection via fiber

Hi. Has anybody been able to get this to work. Have tried many things to no avail and MC is of no help. Yes I have a connect ID. Yes connected services is on. Yes have tried DHCP and manual. Yes have tried DMZ. Yes have tried technical settings reset. Yes have tried rebooting router and decoder. Yes have tried reserving IP address on router. I can see on the router that the decoder is connected and router reports that it connects to router (green tick) but it goes red cross and won't connect to internet. Tried many DNS servers too. Every other device connects to internet. Seems almost as if it cannot shake hands with MC's server.

I have huwaei HG8245D fiber router through MTN fiber

Any ideas would be most welcome before I cancel dstv (again)

I have had an Explorer 1 connected to the Internet for a while now but in the last couple of weeks I'm finding that the thing has the same issue as you describe. I searched for a solution and the only brief success I had was to click on undo changes in system settings - ethernet.
Let's hope that someone finds the issue and fixes it.

I have also tried the undo changes trick to no avail

Hey.

I've just had this exact same problem with the same router. Was driving me crazy and out of frustration I plugged the cable into port 2 of the router and it worked. Tried port 1 and it worked. But ports 3 and 4 don't work for ANYTHING.

I don't know enough about routers to fix this so any help would be appreciated.
