Nonsense. This has been said for years and years about movies and TV shows...the "pirating" still goes on and the shows and movies still make billions.I don't even know what you trying to say.
Does the Springboks get paid by SARU? From what money?
So all the local provincial teams only have useless players? As the rest play overseas? Nobody get paid millions for Playing for the Bulls, Stormers. Sharks etc?
Yes if everyone uses IPTV, their will be no more money, no more sport and no more iptv. Great argument.

Not "everyone" will ever use IPTV...the % of people that do use it, are tech savvy and miniscule in comparison to those that pay for schit like DSTV etc.
IPTV viewing has zero tangible impact on the huge advertising and broadcasting contracts.
Springboks are paid by SARU...from money that SARU makes on investments as well as huge sponsorship deals. MTN and Nike pay their salaries.
Also:
SARU is close to a deal for a $75 million investment from Ackerley Sports Group.
SARU will be the majority owner of the new entity, while ASG holds a roughly 20% stake. The post-money valuation on the deal is $375 million.
In 2022, SARU posted revenue of 1.54 billion rand ($82 million in current exchange rates).
They're not struggling and IPTV is not even a blip on their radar.
The frame rate on these is 30fps. Looks very choppy compared to 50-60fps
I'm not doing it because other's are doing it, I'm doing it because their are no fair market. The lack of competition in the sports broadcasting market has led to an unfair monopoly by a single supplier. This whole known-abuse type IPTV use is like gang rape; "others are doing it so why shouldn't I?" - BS, you're helping to destabilise fair market trade. In a way that makes you a commie![]()

Would you subscribe to DSTV if it took 10% of your after-tax paychecque?Yes, the market is unfair. Yes, someone else banging my wife is also unfair but doesn't mean I can go shoot him.
Geo-rules aside ('cos we all know they're equally BS) , why not subscribe to legit services in the UK etc.?
And quite a few here are encouraging others. Think it makes them feel better about themselves, who knows..
"many" ? Look at the BIG picture. Drop in the bucket.Nah.
Doubtful it isn't a lot more common knowledge these days, and how about the many who have now given up DStv Premium, do they just sit around saying they'll do without?

Do you honestly believe that DSTV is the only broadcasting rights that SARU is selling? Did you even read what I posted re the ASG deal?
And? How is this affecting the finances of SARU?![]()
DStv Premium destruction
MultiChoice’s latest annual results have revealed that the broadcaster has continued to bleed customers in its valuable premium segment in South Africa.mybroadband.co.za

I think your virtue signalling makes you feel better...or superior perhaps? Who knows....Yes, the market is unfair. Yes, someone else banging my wife is also unfair but doesn't mean I can go shoot him.

Not the point I'm making, I know nothing about SARU's finances. And? How is this affecting the finances of SARU?
It was the point I was making in response to other posts here that claim IPTV will be the end of professional sport/rugby in South Africa. Not the point I'm making, I know nothing about SARU's finances.
HUH?Do you honestly believe that DSTV is the only broadcasting rights that SARU is selling? Did you even read what I posted re the ASG deal?
Ever heard of Fox Sports and Sky NZ? They make billions...
Show me YOUR figures please. Show me how much money SARU is losing 'cos of IPTV.
53%....
