DStv launches new concept store - Photos

DStv, the broadcast satellite service of MultiChoice, has launched its new Customer Experience Centre in the Mall of the North, Polokwane.

The concept store occupies 669 square metres over two floors – merging ‘the best of digital and physical shopping experience’.

Customer Experience Centre incomplete: needs a mosh pit for the more agro types that are not enjoying their MonoChoice/DSTV experience and want to do a bit of head bashing.

I guess that is impressive by Multichoice standards. Most poorer developing countries have government walk-in offices of that standard (excluding SA naturally).

When you walk in you get stuck in the revolving door.

Lol, got any examples? Not even the USA has that standard of government walk-in offices.
The US is old and run-down. C'mon we have been down this road often and you just disappear into vapour.

I'm sorry, what is the point of having a store like this? Let alone in Polokwane.

It's DStv, not Apple/Samsung/Huawei/etc that offer multiple technology platforms for showcasing.
My thoughts exactly.

Isn't a store a place where people go to buy useful things then actually want or need?

Oh wait, it is just a concept, OK, carry on...

That's what I thought as well, until I read this:
As with the existing DStv walk-in centres in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, and Pretoria the new Polokwane Customer Experience Centre will observe all Covid-19 safety protocols, the group said.
MonoChoice can probably encourage people to go experience DSTV if they have all the Supersport channels up on different TVs and get a liquor licence to operate a pub, but knowing MonoChoice the price for a beer would be about the same as a single shot of Johnny Walker Black anywhere else.

Terrible use of shareholder money.
This.
What the heck is the point, it's not as though they're competing for walk in traffic? They're a monopoly effectively. The "competition" are almost exclusively online.
What do they sell that requires an off the street visit?

So no examples then. Got It.

Department of Home Affairs equivalent in Tbilisi, Georgia. Looks like more of a concept store than a MC concept store does. Plus the staff are way hotter. But you should see the one in buenos aires

Don't worry - they'll open more come April 1 2021.

The store is fitted with themed spaces with a sales booth, solution bar, content lounge, entertainment pods to give customers the full experience of DStv’s latest products and services.
