Dstv Now on android device

Good morning All,

I installed the Dstv Now app on my Mini M8S II 4K Smart TV Box Amlogic S905X Quad Core Processor but when trying to watch live programmes or Catch up I get the NOT WORKING ON ROOTED DEVICES message although the device is unrooted.I confirmed the root status with several apps and try tried various apps to hide the root but still not working. On the other hand the Supersport app is working fine. Any advice?

Install Chrome on the box and watch DsTv now through the browser. That way you also max out on quality.

I had the same issue with the DSTV Now app on my Minix Android media player. Installed the app "Hide My Root" and DSTV Now works fine now.

I last used it on Sunday to watch the football and it worked fine.

Had to sign on back into my DSTV account but it worked fine afterwards.

I had to side load the app as I could not download it from the app store. Then had the message that it is registered and need to login to deregister the device first.

I used the chat function on the dstvnow website to rectify this. Had to take down the device ID and send it to them on the chat. Took a while to get that ID down.

Doesn't the DstvNow site recognise the browser as android based ? Tried this on phones and it didn't work .

Is there a browser that this can be done with ? Edge for Android came close.

Chrome has option in the menus to “show as desktop” which should force the site to show in a full browser format. When I did this I also read that Dolphin browser works well.

I don’t use this method anymore as the app is now fully supported for me so yeah goodluck.

Think I tried the desktop selection in the past. Yeah I am using the app as well , just wondered if there is an existing way to bypass the Google certification requirement on cheap boxes.

It redirected me to the connect ID site now when clicking on a Supersport channel , similar as DstvNow , and couldn't get it to work. Is there a login somewhere on the Supersport page?

This was done from an android phone with the latest Chrome browser installed with desktop mode.

Think they blocked this now ?

Within the Supersport APP you get redirected to DstvNow when wanting to watch a channel.

Everything navigates to DstvNow plus Google certification requirement.

Thanks. I have a Minx X8-H. I watched F1 on Sunday, then afterwards, it said my device wasn't certified. Haven't tried to log out and in again...
