DStv gives free Disney+ subscriptions

MultiChoice is giving DStv subscribers three months of Disney+ for free, TV with Thinus reports.

According to TV expert Thinus Ferreira, DStv has started sending subscribers part of its DStv Rewards Loyalty Programme an "exclusive offer" for a limited-time free subscription.

...aaah yes...3 months free which never made the clickbait headline.

DStv can go jump! I'd still pay for Disney+ even if they offered it for free for far longer.

This makes no sense.

"Here, use one of our competitor's services for free".

I can just imagaine the scores of people cancelling DSTV after three months and having seen the light.

DSTV marketing lately has been around their new decoders which can do streaming like Netflix, Prime Video, Youtube, etc. I suppose that will include Disney + as well.. I guess they think the general public would go for an all-in one device and sign up for all the subscriptions as well.

They are trying everything to get people to come back, but the catch is you have to subscribe to Dstv and pay the access fee in order for the Explora Ultra to work and use apps like Netflix, Prime Video etc, adding up to the costs. This is excluding your internet costs.

Why cant they for once listen to the public and introduce the long awaited DStv Flex with a fix amount of channels and add Supersport if you want, or let people choose their own channels. In this way they will gain far more subscribers back. Thousands of people have left Premium because of the cost.

Also if they open the Retirement Village packages (Dstv Business) Stay Essential R390 pm, that has all the Supersport channels, Mnet, Kyknet etc to the general public, you will see lots more people singing up. But NO - they are a greedy bunch and it is just about the money and not caring about the paying public - I am afraid we won't see that happening anytime soon.
