easy solution. move away from DSTV, use the money you save to get internet and stream what you want to watch.

Hey Simiso.

As for sound - Check if your cables are inserted properly or try a different set of cables.

As for certain channels not playing - check if the channels which are not working are available on the package to which you are subscribed.

Some decoders struggle with certain channels, that is why dstv will tell you to go to explora.

Apart form anything else in this post:

(1) Ch 161 is on a HOR polarised transponder (for those interested 11554 HOR) and is the HD channel version of 161. There are two sound tracks available ENG Original and ENG Family. Any issues you have with reception on this channel normally means an issue with the skew angle adjustment on the LNB.

(2) If you want proper sound reception on this channel, you do need to have an HD TV with an HDMI cable connection to the decoder. It could be a mismatch in settings on the TV and the decoder as well as that the TV is not set for the correct TV system PAL I (depending on how you have connected your TV to the decoder and what sort of TV it is.

So, very short on info to give you a reasonably good answer as to what could be wrong.
