DSTV Problems

Whats up with DSTV this morning? Our PVR has stopped working (the PVR and second TV part). Same problem with a relative that I spoke to. DSTV help desk just cuts you off when you call and I have been waiting for the Durban office for about 15 minutes now.

My guess is that they have upgraded the copy protection again and just scr.wed over the paying customers to try and stop a couple of pirates.

Edit - More information. Seems like it is a general problem with DSTV at the moment and a lot of people are having the same problem.

Paying customer. Inevitably, we are the ones who get messed around because of DSTV fiddling to try and stop the illegal ones.

According to spokes person from Multichoice it should be fixed around 11:00 this morning

They have a message at their call centre to confirm they are aware of the problem with TV2. If you are in a hurry then you can speak to someone and they will send a signal to rectify the problem.

I heard the guy on 702 talking this morning. Said it was a technical problem at 2am this morning and that it will be sorted out by 11am. When was the last software update for the sent out for the decoders? I would hazard a guess that it just happened to go out at 2am this morning.

Maybe they did not fixed the DH pvr bug's just moved them to the SD pvr

Someone? All I get is the recorded rubbish and an accounts lady. I am off sick today and recorded a lot of shows etc..oh well thats my life..it sux!!

When they say "speak now", you say "transfer me". Then you will speak to an operator. They ask you to unplug it for 30 sec. Then they send a reset signal. Hey presto! Fixed

Has anyone had a problem with their remote control not working properly? My remote seems to work erratically, sometimes not at all, other times it works perfectly. Brand new decoder, brand new remote, brand new batteries ...

Funny I had the same problem yesterday, woke up at about 8 and noticed my DSTV was off, went to work came back at about 5 and it was still down. Just as I was about to phone them the signal suddenly came back, just as well cause I was in a mood for a fight
