DSTV regular disconnections

DSTV have, for years, been trying to convert me to Explora. I am now experiencing regular service disconnections at almost the same time in the evening (18-50). DSTV deny that they have anything to do with the problem and I ask them "why would my service be fine all day and fail at 18-50 so regularly?".
They want me to take my decoder to be checked although all the services seem to be up to date.
Does anybody have any ideas as to why I am having this ongoing problem ??

The Explora is just about worthwhile. It has a severe drawback in that a lot of series recordings fail. My wife is a serial downloader and spends a lot of time complaining (to me) about the large number of failed recordings, which she must resolve

The picture quality is noticeably better. You need a Smart LNB and the dish's alignment must be spot on. A 60cm dish is no good either, it should be 80cm or larger. A 60cm dish will work, but when it rains you get drop-out

I have had an Explora for about 2 years and am on the third LNB. The first two failed due to water getting in via the flimsy O-ring, but were replaced under warranty. The lady at Space TV said of the first batch, fully 25% were faulty, some out the box

Yours must have divine intervention. Every single one of my friends who record quite a lot have recording failures one way or the other. MC blamed the installation and sent an installer to check it. He found it 100% and charged me R600 for his trouble
