Said Tim Jacobs, CFO - Now we know what a CFO does, watch DSTV the entire day

Well if he doesn't think it's that bad, clearly he doesn't watch all the repeats no? :)
Or he is just an old fool that cant comprehend why they are losing premium subs:

Compared to the SABC? I'll agree with him. DSTV being better than what people think? Agree to disagree there.

Is he F**&^'ING kidding me????
Clearly he didn't watch the final episode of How I met your Mother last night, followed by S01E01 thereafter!
They have been living off a handful of shows for years now that get repeated as the final season ends. How many times have they played the entire seasons of Friends, HIMYM, Everyone (hates?) Raymond and Big Bang Theory??
Oh...and NOW we get to watch Fresh Prince yet again.
I think I'm down to about 3 channels I watch, and can't even bear those anymore. And they repeat episodes in the same timeslot, so what you watch on Saturday, you can watch again on Sunday!
Luckily my subscription ends December and I won't be renewing. They aren't even making the slightest attempt to improve.

“At the same time, it is an opportunity. For the first time consumers in South Africa are able to look at what another service provider has to offer and compare something to us.”

Because Netflix, Amazon Prime and YouTube are definitely not providing a competing product to DSTV.

None of these three platforms have repeats.
Netflix and Amazon Prime don't have any adverts, whilst adverts on YouTube are minimal if you have a subscription.

It isn't repeats that are the worst thing, it is the forced advert breaks that are the most noticeable.

Which actually means he spends 4 hours a day watching adverts for DSTV telling its subscribers how much value they are getting.

I think that you need to mention that, repeats aren't as bad as you think is reason enough to consider it as bad as you think.

Not really a direct competitor, lol have you seen how old the content is on Amazon?

These are not competing products but complementary.

If anyone thinks Netflix or Amazon is any different they are trying to fool themselves.

I wouldn't know about repeats on DSTV I kicked it to the curb 7 years ago. One of the best decisions I have made.
Well you'll be happy to know that DSTV is no longer just in HD, but now streams in 4K HDR!

Wait...no...never mind. I was thinking of literally every other service on Earth. My mistake.

Sounds like you're talking about Comedy Central, which is a Turnaround Channel and isn't in control by DSTV. They get it directly from the source. Same as Discovery, BBC etc.
