What are they smoking at DSTV?
Nah. I'll blame the DSTV exec's bloated salariesMaybe blame the cost of HBO, Showtime and sports rights.
I think there's ample information as to why people cancel DSTV, taking their R820 towards an uncapped fibre connection and a Netflix/etc sub.
With this info available, why even consider charging the same for a streaming only DStv service?
How many simultaneous streams? Worth it for the sports if you can split the cost three ways.

I'm no lover of DStv but there are reasons that Netflix doesn't have that content.
2 connections, simultaneously - 4 devices.
Don't forget, you still need to pay your tv license.
Hmm, so R410 a month for sports, if you share with a buddy? I'd probably get it over the summer for cricket, especially since they’re showing local 4-day series now.
Watch on SABC 3 - Free
Won't show as much cricket as Supersport. IPL, international tests, etc.
VGA. 16 colors at 640x480 pixelsQuality? 720P or 4k?
You mentioned current series ...
You think they haven't included the costs of there sattelites and whatever else to the consumer? Why are you guys expecting this to be cheaper that the decoder based service. It's not like content costs suddenly drop because it's a streaming service? Multichoice must just learn to negotiate better something they seem to have deliberating ignored because the high price kept them in business.

Still pay the same but got to cover the data costs as well, doesn't seem like a good deal to me.
