MultiChoice under siege

MultiChoice is struggling to hold on to DStv subscribers as years of price increases made the service expensive and uncompetitive in the new streaming market.

MultiChoice’s results for the six months ended 30 September 2023 revealed a loss of R911 million, a big decline from the R55 million profit over the same period last year.

We have to stop reading these DStv articles, otherwise they are just going to keep coming.

Could never understand the fascination with dstv's price.
If you don't want to pay that amount for all the sport they offer, then move on.
If you think you could get all that sport for less, you live in a fantasy world.
LOL R350 just for sport? A MotoGP and F1tv subscription will cost you more, then you don't have rugby, cricket, golf, soccer, Olympics, Tour de France, Dakar, tennis etc etc.
I have said it a million times. If you love sport, DSTV is a bargain. If you don't want to pay it, start watching Netflix.

Why did Netflix become insanely successful? Because it offered value. R100 for all that content? Sure!

Sport should not be expensive to watch on tv. It is priced at the optimal pain point according to the best consumers' wallet, to deliver shareholder returns. It actively avoids value. For the average south african, R1000 is a LOT of money.

Multichoice, I am delighted that your greedy aRse& are getting clobbered. You fleeced the public, payback is a beach.
