DStv without a dish - How it stacks up to Netflix

DStv recently launched its standalone streaming service in South Africa, allowing local subscribers to sign up for packages without a satellite installation.

These streaming-only packages are otherwise identical to the traditional satellite packages, although they are now in direct competition with Netflix and other streaming services.

Openweb had to drop first, if I recall.
After endless pointing out how bad (and corrupt) openweb was; they were still carried by the establishment. Finally one day it stopped due to sheer pressure, if I recall.

So you're trying to convince me that 480p upscaled to 1080p is somehow better than the 4K I'm enjoying with Netflix now? Can the DSTV paid content please stop now?

Or did ArsePers give you that much money that we're suffering from the same DSTV repeats on the forum as well?

LoL DSTV... A great attempt, this should have existed a decade ago.

Also, their viewing model is stuck in the last decade. I know a lot of people that wouldn't pay for this just because of the way it's scheduled content, even if it was cheaper than Netflix. The parts where you can pick something and watch it wherever is way more appealing, which ShowMax already does.

Even my grandmother is now streaming 7de laan on YouTube, rather than tuning in at the exact time slot it's broadcast on TV.

I would rather have an actual satellite dish along with the DSTV now addon rather than just dstv now if I was paying for it.
