Hi torgo

1. No there is no charge
2. The calls from that sim wilol be billed with the main Line so it's 1 account
3. Yes you can use it for data services
4. CLI is not allowed on the secondary SIM card.

Hi.

I got CLI switched on, on the secondary SIM, but it is a toatal disaster!!!

I had the Vodacom option before porting to MTN and the Vodacom option (Twin Call) works a hell of a lot better.
I have no need for 2 phones to be switched on at the same time, but the call should be routed to which ever phone is on, no matter which number is dailed.
The MTN Dual call just doesn't work like that... If the Secondary number is dialed and the primary phone is on, you don't get the call, the caller get's you VMB...

If a SMS is sent to the primary SIM but the secondary is active, you don't get the SMS's till the primary is active again.

Hi DV

I dont seem to have that problem. Got it this weekend and works thus far like this:

- both phones on,
- primary phone rings - no answer - goes to second phone - if no answer - goes to my voicemail
- can use either phone to dial
- can actually call the main phone from the second one
- sms are received on primary phone, even with both on

Issues,
- cannot send sms from secong phone
- no cli on secon phone

Otherwise ok!

The problem starts with the CLI on the second fone. The moment you start using it and someone tries to phone you back on the second phone's number (as per CLI) and it's not switched on -- Voicemail -- no transfer to primary.

Send a SMS to our primary (from any phone) but the secondary is active -- No SMS-- till the primary is switched on.

Two reasons for this.

The CLI is not active on Secondary for it's main purpose it to be a secondary phone. When you have CLI for the second phone people will phone u on there instead of the primary. This in turn then has no purpose and you can just have 2 cell contracts.

The CLI not being active will mean that u cant send a SMS. SMS needs CLI to be active.

This maks sense, but maybe I don't understsnd CLI. when I call from my second SIM, my wife sees it as 'Cory's car'. Sh then gets themoerin if she replies and I'm back on my main phone
I d not use the second SIM for SMS, like to keep everything filed in one place.

BTW, I've had two SIMs for over 2 years on MTN and have never had any problems. Super service!
(Except MTN insist on employing people who cannot speak distinctly and then worsens it by making them say 'yello'. SHRIEK!!)

Yep, if you call from your second sim, and if the person you calling has CLI active, then they see another phone number --- i.e. the phone number of the second sim!!!! If they call that number it goes to the second sim -----That is why?

You cannot call your primary number from your secondary or send sms, as you should not know what that number is and it is effectively the "same number". Twin call is or rather was for the sole reason of a car phone, ( but technology changed and needs changed) so one phone would be off and the other on. On MTN your voicemail sits on your secondary sim. Your cell number is your primary number and your secondary is actually a ghost number. You as a client is not supposed to know that number as it is linked on the network. You have "one" number which you advertise on your business card or whatever.

So when you get a call on your primary number if your primary is on it will ring , if not it automatically gets diverted to your secondary number( this is linked on the network) and if you secondary is on it rings, if not then it gets diverted to your voicemail.

Your secondary number should not have CLI ( for the reason that if somone calls you on that number & its off and your primary is on it will NOT get diverted to your primary.

You should be able to send sms's from either (however sending sms's from a car phone is not recommended for obvious reasons). If its not a car phone makes sure your message centre number is correct the same as the other one, and that you sending it as a text message.

There is no costs when the call is diverted to your secondary from your primary number. Also the network will forward the call to the phone that was last activated or used. i.e if both phones are on, then the last phone that was used either made or recieved a call, would recieve th next call, as that would be the last "activated" number on the network.

Hope that assists

Errr..hmmmm not sure wot you mean. The primary number has one sim card and the twin/dual sim is another =2.. if that what you mean on a Twin call or Dual call.

And both work on the same number (primary number)

Corrections

Hi, just some corrections ( Ihave been using dual call for a while now)

You can call either phone from the other phone. The secondary sim has a phone number (different). If you call someone from teh secondary sim, this number will display on their phone if they have cli.

ANd you cannot send sms from your secondary sim. They have blocked that!
