Do you think WBS would permit me to have a UDT for @ home and PCMCI connect card for when i'm away from home and still be connected on both?

they can enter two devices under one username and I know that for a fact - they did it to me by mistake and I only discovered when I tried to cancel and they slapped me with a bill for a second PCMCIA which ofcorse I've never purchased. Then when they realised their mistake - they cancelled my device and left the non-existent one result being I couldn;t use my account as the sn of the modem did not correspond to the one under my account. Then they had to reverse that and activate my device again.
So it is technically possible to have two devices under one account. It is an entirely different story if they want to charge you for 2 accounts.

Well that answers it, pity that they do not allow multiple devices, I mean after all we do pay per gig
They do allow them but you cannot have 2 running at same time ie disconnect at home before going on laptop --- It might be easier to buy one UTC and a pcmcia reader for your home pc. Then you could just take the UTC with you.
But of course you will prob have prob with signal and need arial and that a whole diff story

every device has a different serialnumber and UTID, each account uses a username, password and UTID to establish a connection, at your request they can make an account work with another or all UTIDs.
So yes its possible, but I don't think they will allow 2 concurrent connections so if your PCMCI modem is connected your desktop one will need to be disconnected.

or lets say 640k if you had 10 and just imagine 10mbits uncapped speeds!
They would neva allow it (unless they that dumb). But as ppl say they on road so why would they need 2 connections at same time ... unless they are trying to cheat the system. You could just disconnect the one before you leave ... could you not?

I would like to have both a UTD and UTC with a single login. When I log in from the UTC, the UTD auto-disconnects. The UTD will auto-reconnect as soon as it is needed, provide that the UTC connection has been terminated. That way, you can have a connection @ home and still be mobile.

Correct. I collected my modem and then was hijacked - lost the modem along with everything else. I subsequently bought a new modem and spent around three days on the phone with them to "activate" the new UTD with my account.
