Dual Core Processor Gaming

Hi

Just wanted to know if going the dual core route is worth it. Anyone out the got a d/c system ... is it good ...

I am interested in getting the Intel Pentium 945 D processor ... I heard that it is a better buy to get a 945P (cheaper) than the 945G (almost double the price of the 945P) ... and hook up a decent gfx card.....

Whats ur thoughts?

Yeah, Angellus is right - it's not gonna help you much for gaming at all. What I find great though, is that on my dual core (AMD) I can play an full mpeg movie off the PC to the TV AND play ut2k4 without any hit on my framerate on either the game or movie. Impressive huh.

If you need to buy now stick with the AMD x2's until the Intel Core 2 duo's come out.
