Dual LNB for 1 DSTV single view and 1 Openview decoder

I have a standard dual LNB with one active DSTV single view decoder, but cannot get the Openview decoder to work on the second port of a dual LNB (2 universal ports). Swopping the DSTV for the Openview works just fine. Before I get a new dual LNB, any advice on something I'm doing wrong? Also, if I replace the LNB say with a smart LNB, could I use a unicable port for 1 decoder and a universal port for the other?

Forgot to ask - could one use the two unicable outputs for a single view DSTV decoder and an Openview decoder respectively?

I have openview and explora setup at my father inlaws house using a smart lnb.
