Traditional African pots were made from clay.
I have it like that too. Africans did not have the know-how to make cast Iron pots.

As far as I know, the Bantu were still using Iron Age tech when they met the European, who was at that stage already in the Early Modern era.

This means that the European were, at the very least, a 1000-1500 years ahead of the Bantu in regards to tech and development.

This is why I asked @ForceFate "what traditional" pots he is referring to as it could be traditional European pots made out of iron, or the traditional African pots, that was made out of clay.

Perhaps you should consider who manufactures the pots in the article as well as largest customer base of the large pots. Then you'll get the context of my comment.
So if a Afrikaner, for example, cooks a traditional Chinese meal, this meal now becomes a traditional Afrikaner meal?

This clearly shows me you never interacted with black people beyond normal greetings and the occasional patronising commentary. Let's rather move on.
Dude, white people also use these pots regularly. Ever heard of making a "potjie"?

White people have potjiekos competitions, a potjiekos master in every family and use making "potjie" to consume loads of alcohol.

This reply of yours shows me YOU never interact with white people beyond normal greetings and the occasional patronizing comment!

Moving on...rofl!

Do these companies derive an income from recycling the scrap metal or what do they do with it? Just wondering if there is a right way to get hold of the material, can companies donate or is that against the law?

Sorry, autocorrect, show me an aluminium cable.

Those powerlines you see. Aluminium is light and results in less towers per km:

I think it varies; maybe copper underground, a mix (in the same cable maybe?) of copper and aluminium overhead (I seem to remember an eThekwini Electricity guy telling us this). But I think this has been going on for as long as cable theft. Funny, I have a nice light, easy to clean flat bottomed aluminium potjie pot cast in KZN. I didn't think to check the origins of the metal.

There appears to be a link between long term aluminium cooking utensil use and Alzheimers. Shops stopped selling aluminium utensils when the link came out.

I remember the old potjie type pots having Falkirk on them. Falkirk is a town in Scotland.

So racism.

Clearly, you are trying to justify a defense.
Of an indefensible position.

Why they got dem rings ?
Some sort of built in measuring device ?
Wouldnt you need math or writing for that ?

Yeah but dont go telling everyone about.
The 55kg of copper in traffic cameras.

Related though some of these bigger cables are composites.
So one may harvest multiple materials.
Depending on its make up.
