It's not. at least not in mine.
Strange, even the base level stuff I've driven from 2010 upwards has the feature or it's easily programmed... But then I haven't driven every car model from that period.

I've never heard of anything like that. It is a very standard application in vehicles...even quite old ones.

Maybe check your manual and see if it is something that has to be enabled.
Auto locking car door score you negative points in modern ENCAP tests.

Nope does not appear to be ubiquitous. Vehicle has the regular modern conveniences: keyless, rain sensing wipers, auto light-sensing front headlights, electronic hand break, cruise control, yada, yada..but no auto-lock feature. Drove a tin can Honda Amaze the other day it had auto lock. My older vehicles had auto lock. Reading the vehicle forums it does not have auto lock so therefore cannot be enabled. Something to do with being ahead of legislative changes.

Will just have to carry an extra mag :p

Cars with auto-locking doors generally unlock when the airbags pop.

And no, not all cars from the past decade have auto-locking doors.

Sooo mr Bheki, how do you propose we should handle this scenario in the future if your brain fart actually go ahead........ Are we allowed then to carry swords again like the old days?

Maybe its time to invest in a nice katana light and long enough to do the job

How does someone just open your car door like that?

Car doors automatically lock whilst one is driving...I have to press 12 buttons to unlock my doors when the kids get to the car with me sitting in it waiting outside the school ffs...
I have a 2021 GLX model that doesn't do that

My current car has all the bells and whistles but the doors do not auto-lock while driving.
What car is that? I've had 4 cars in 15 years that all have auto-lock doors, sure my Clio I had to set that up, are you sure you just don't need to do that?

You know, some of us still use vehicles that come out of the previous decade, by necessity or otherwise.
My Land Rover Discovery 2 is a 2003 model...it has autolock among a myriad of other things.
My FreeLander 2 is a 2004 model...same thing.
My wife's Citroen "family van" is 7 years old...same thing.

Your point is pointless...

The only car I had without autolock doors was my wifes Spark, but it was the mid model version and it was 2013. The higher versions did.

My wife's 2015 up also doesn't auto lock. Has lots of features, but misses such a basic safety feature.

Lol. Okay then. My 2010 Civic doesn't have it- and it's the top spec model in the line, it has all of the other features available for that car at the time.

Just because YOUR car does have a feature doesn't mean you get to dismiss everyone else out of hand.

OR...here's a thought: lock your doors manually while driving around ANY city in South Africa.

Guys stop fighting. It’s not that hard to lock the doors yourself. Do you have automatic seatbelts too?

Have you been reading the thread? YOU are the exception here, not me.

PS. If this guy's car did NOT have the auto-lock feature, he should have been less stupid and locked his doors manually while driving around the CBD of one of the most dangerous city's in the world right now.
