Durban Towers

Finally found some time to play around with utTracestar and a damn fine piece of work it is.

Anyway my best guess is:

Durban Towers
1=CBD
2=North Ridge / springfield
3=Glenwood
4=La Lucia

I was amazed at how cr@p my signal is - averaging -90 but i am still getting a decent speeds - prehaps load is an important variable as all the towers i can see have a zero load.

Yes you are right if there are few ppl on a tower lower signals can work better.

This result is due the way the iBurst signal prioritisation mechanism works, the 'closer' /better signal you can send the better speed it will give, but if their are lots of 'closer' ppl you will get less speed.

I have noticed this several times really early in the morning. My normal speeds about 250 or less but the later it gets the better even up to 1mbit at 2:30am with the same signal.

Yup i was thinking that!!

I guess the fact that people in Durban take about two years to wake up to anything, works in my favour this time!!

And thanks again for the great proggie. People at work today must have thought i had gone a bit mad, jumping around with this strange box, balancing it everywhere from the floor to the top of the bathroom door then staring intensely at a squiglly line on the screen before starting the process all over again!!
