I have been in constant communication with the water department today. A hole number of options have been looked at to make sure the booster pumps don't trip.
This far all is still looking good for Water to be restored by the morning.
I will update as soon as I have been given further information.
I know how frustrating and hard it is.
I just want to make sure that whatever information i give you is the best possible information I can.
Kind regards,
Cllr Chris van den Berg
Otherwise Day 10 for some tommorow.

Ah but our Mayor has priorities.....

Ffs.. Even if we accept the budget argument and this money can't be spent by the water department.. We have numerous parks in this city that are a fsckup.. But nooo we can have a beauty pageant that will achieve nothing.

Kaunda is a useless prick, probably hoping to get lucky with one of the contestants when he shows of his singing disability.

Well finally the suburb is fully watered again. There is one poor road on top of the hill next to us still without, for them its Day 10 but they should receive in the day.

Until the next fiasco.

- 11 Days ( 20 Nov 2023 - 1 Dec 2023 )
- Jan has a outage but was brief.
- 9 Days ( 19 Feb 2024 - 27 Feb 2024 )

Until the next fiasco.

Correct you were! Correct you are!

Two differant protests, one is the workers for the muni causing kak and the veralum on is actually the residents protesting lack of water and electricity.

Cleaning up after them will be like rewarding a child for throwing a tantrum.

I dunno, 100 odd days of water and electricity , rubbish is the least concern. Also I think that video is samwu, the ones I've seen of the services protest are more the burning types and blocking roads.

Ah OK that's different then. Blimmen nightmare.

Day 5 without water in my area. Since the start of the year there have been 4 such incidents.

January once for 3 days.

Feb twice, one for 2 days and the other for 5 days.

Now 5 days and counting for March.

The pump has tripped at Durban Heights treatment works. I have been informed that they are aware of it and are trying to get it up and running. This is affecting the whole of southern areas.
I am taking this up with the heads of water department.
Kind regards,
Cllr Chris van den Berg

That's not so bad. My dad's house in Shallcross/Escombe has no water for 3 weeks now and counting.

I have to fill 70 x 25L drums with water from my borehole and get a staff member to load it on my truck and drop off daily there for them and other friends and neighbours to use. My guy has to wait for them to empty all of those drums and then reload the empties and drive back to Ballito.

The Diesel cost is R2000+ and counting, so far for all those return trips and loads of water.

Damn, SA is falling apart.

Well done for helping out not many people will do that.

Yep, there's a lot of old folk and kids there... no water tankers go there at all and I know a lot of the neighbours since I grew up there.

Municipality and Ward Councillor gives us the run around and usual stories. Pipes damaged, reservoir pumps down etc...no ETA as well. Incompetence.
