Greetings!

Is anybody here registered with FreeDNS (http://freedns.afraid.org/)?

It's a service whereby you can regsiter your domain name, for free, and it even has Dynamic DNS capabilities!

There are a couple of DNS client scripts for UNIX-based systems so that your ADSL IP address will update accordingly...

I've tried most of these scripts, but I seem to be getting errors because my networked computer can't resolve my external IP address correctly.

You can have a look at the various DNS client software here... http://freedns.afraid.org/scripts/freedns.clients.php

I just need to know... Does anyone have their own working script and willing to share it?

Thanks in advance!

i've written a perl script that connects to my router and gets the ip address from there. another way is to get the ip address from http://checkip.dyndns.org/.

you could probably download one of their scripts and see what they do then modify it to suit your needs... not going to do it for you though :(

another excellent place to find (minimal paid for) help is www.experts-exchange.com
