Hi All

Scrapped the Alcatel modem, and got me a Netgear router thingy. Works like a dream. Took the good part of 1minute to setup:)

saw the option to use DynDns, where the modem automatically updates the dns, etc.

How hard is it to setup an Ftp file server? i'd like to log into my office pc from home to pick up a few files and work on it, then upload it back there? Any tutorials?

Thanks

Depends on the software you use, you can get "ServU FTP" but I'd avoid it due to recent exploits - look on Tucows for software. It isnt that hard to setup but be aware of Passive vs Active ftp problems.

cheerz.

I use this on Windows:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/filezilla/

At home I have a Linux server.
