I'm trying to setup DynDNS so that I can host a website from my pc.

I've setup my DynDNS host service with my IP and selected the Web Page host option.
Then on my router I've setup port forwarding to my pc inside my network.
Im running XAMP on my pc.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong but if I enter the address I configured with my IP on DynDNS it times out.
Any help will be much appreciated!

When you ping the domain does it reflect your current IP?

Then your problem is with the ddns, might be a password or login or update error. Does your router produce logs?

www.firefly.podzone.net. does not look like a valid domain name.

You probably have an account, have you signed up for the ddns service after you created the account?? If you have the domain (you would have chosen one of their domains from a drop down list when you signed up for the dynamic dns server) did make sure is it the same one you are entering into the configuration on the router?

ping firefly.podzone.org does resolve to your IP, check your router is port forwarding (80) to your server and also check your firewall.

Firstly log into the router’s web interface. Once you have the web interface on-screen, follow the steps below:
1. Firstly, click on “Advanced” then select “Configuration” and then “Advanced from the configuration sub-menu and then “Dynamic DNS” from the advanced sub-menu.
2. Enable the DDNS service.
3. Select the correct dynamic DNS server, this refers to the DDNS service you are using (DynDNS, no-ip, zoneedit etc.)
4. You can enable “Wildcard” to ensure that even if www.user.dyndns.org instead of user.dyndns.org the hostname will still resolve successfully.
5. Enter your domain name, this refers to the hostname created on the DynDNS website.
6. The username and password referred to is the same username and password used to log into the DDNS service site.
7. Lastly, set the “Period” to 24 hours as this is the default IP lease time for public IP addresses in South-Africa.
Remember to allow “Remote Access” on the router, set the time to “0” to allow indefinite access.
